The Salvation Army Orlando Today Shelter Partnership

We do far more than just feed the homeless, we help with life and job preparedness if we can. We have programs that provide training for a trade. By helping an individual off the street and into an welcoming environment, we find some who want more. Some homeless have had a bad turn in life and need a new direction. We teach not only life skills and job skills but in some cases a trade.

Training for the future at Salvation Army Orlando

We do far more than just feed the homeless, we help with life and job preparedness if we can.  We have programs that provide training for a trade.  By helping an individual off the street and into an welcoming environment, we find some who want more.  Some homeless have had a bad turn in life and need a new direction. We teach not only life skills and job skills but in some cases a trade.

A new program we are introducing help train for a trade, help with job skills and ultimately help with job placement and housing to move into a new independent life.  By so doing Salvation Army Orlando makes business stronger, helps make the economy better and in the process, we are all better in the Orlando community!

The Extraordinary Adventures of the Mouse and His Child - full movie new...

This is the first full restoration - Color and Sound - of :The Extraordinary Adventures of the Mouse and His Child", the forgotten production of Charles M Schulz which is a wonderful full length animation for kids old and young, staring the voices of Peter Ustinov, Cloris Leachman, Sally Kellerman, Andy Devine, and John Carradadine. The story centers around a wind up toy mouse attached to his son in the same toy. They have an assortment of friends they call their family in a toy store, until they accidentally fall out a window. When the mouse and his child fall out the window they fall on a trash heap and end up at the dump. There they are enslaved by a rat who runs an illegal casino and who enslaves broken wind up toys. But since most toys end up at the dump some day, their friends from the toy shop end up in the same dump. Banding together, they over come the evil rat and his gang and form a unique family! This is an unusual tale that has been forgotten over the years. When it was released in theaters, good old Leonard Maltin, never one to look too deeply into the goodness of a story, called it a "Bomb, and said "boring animated film with talk talk talk and no action, what adult wants to watch this.?" Well Leonard, this work of art was not made for us adults, it was made as a wonderful tale for kids and drawn well enough for parents and animation lovers to enjoy it's innocence as well! We at Cartoon Crazys found the best copy of The Mouse and his Child to be a real mess, faded, scratched and with many video anomalies, not to mention very bad sound. We have worked very hard to make it look and sound as the original artists created it to be. Remember that when this was filmed (animation frames transferred to film master) it was done in the dreaded kodak process. So the color was gone and pink, as well as old and faded. If and when Sanrio Films ever decides to put a good restored copy out, we will of course take this one down, and they are welcome to any elements of this restoration they would like to use in the process. But for now, we hope you enjoy this restored version of The Extraordinary Adventured of the Mouse and His Child free for your viewing pleasure. It is here on YouTube in many versions, but I think you will find this version to be the only one that is full rich color and ultra stereo clear soundtrack! Thank you for watching our labor of love! Merrie Melodies

Merrie Melodies stood out in the classic cartoon world of the 1930's and early 1940's as the main Warner Bros competition to Fleischer Studios and Disney Studios, Where Looney Tunes only really competed with Fleischer Studios stars Popeye and Betty Boop since all Loony Tunes before 1943 were black and white. Fleischer Studios also chose to keep their most popular stars Popeye and Betty Boop in Black and White, even after Fleischer Studios went bankrupt and became Famous Studios, Popeye continued in Black and white until 1943. One fact is that after 1943, there's no difference at all but for the different theme songs between Merrie Melodies and Loony Tunes.. The Warner Brothers cartoon studios arbitrarily designated half their films as "Looney Tunes" and the other half as "Merrie Melodies," using the titles interchangeably after 1943 when the decision was made for all WB cartoons to be in color, This was also the beginning of absolute standardization for WB cartoons, they started to become as formula as Famous Studios cartoons, consistent stars, look, colors and predictable story lines. One big difference was the "clean" animation, achieved by using thinner line art on the characters and the more pastel like colors on most cartoons, where both Famous and Disney were much more bold and in your face with color and line art. The other difference after 1943 was the constant presents of Chuck Jones and Mel Blank, a duo that can be recognized a mile away in their collaborative art! Before that, however, there was a slight separation. Looney Tunes tended to be based around recurring characters like Bosko, who was succeeded as their main star by a short-lived hero named Buddy, who was soon supplanted by Porky Pig. In the meantime, perhaps in emulation of Mr. Disney's "Silly Symphonies," the Merrie Melodies series featured cartoons built primarily around music. Most of them were structured around a song which served as the title of the short. (They did not precisely adhere to these distinctions. The character of Egghead, for instance, turned up in some late-30's Merrie Melodies, breaking the "no recurring character" rule.) Egghead is featured in Two for the Zoo, featured here in this collection of classic cartoons on Cartoon Crazys YouTube Channel. Apart from that, the other main difference was that in 1934, they began to make the Merrie Melodies shorts in color, whereas the Looney Tunes series remained black-and-white until 1943. From then on, no one knew which was which…or cared. In the marketing business, especially in the entertainment business, if you have a popular name with the public, you never let it go. If you want a comparison at the grocery store, Tide and Gain are the same product, slightly different fragrances. Thomas R Reich PhD The Original Cartoon Crazys

The Internet is Transforming into Something New: are you ready?

Older Internet Websites are becoming Ineffective

Evolving, Small Business Must Change with new Standards and the Emerging Smartphone Dominance of all Searches for Services.

By Thomas R. Reich PhD

It was only 10 years ago that the iPhone smartphone transformed our lives in ways we never thought possible. But like most new technologies, only the tech savvy and the wealthy early adaptors get the first generation of a successful device.  Then a cheap knock off is introduced, we all saw millions with those, functional but not the full internet functionality of the iPhone.

Years later Samsung smartphone and others introduced true high tech equivalents to the iPhone, then came the 2 the 3 and so on up the fire prone S7 Plus and now the really cool S8 Edge. We are told the best iPhone smartphone of all will be out for Christmas.

Bottom line, almost everyone now carries the promise of Steven Jobs in our pocket; the power of the entire internet in our pocket. Most of us now have a TV studio, carry our full filing system with us, can watch any how to video sitting in the Dr Office waiting for an appointment, and even watch a movie!

Oh YAHH—We can also search the most powerful and intuitive search engine in the world, now trying to actually provide actual answers to exact questions. So, let’s say your car gets a funny noise while you are driving.  No longer do you ask “what could be wrong”.  Instead, today you search for an answer right there from your smartphonephone in the car, and click on the call now button when you find the answer to make an appointment.

If this sounds like science fiction, open your eyes, if it surprises you, listen up! The whole way small business has looked at the internet is obsolete or declining. Prospects, for the most part, do not sit at their home computers at night searching for advertising that fits what they need.

Remember that whole IPad thing, well that really did not become a very big part of things outside of business use, and the smart phone replaces its functionality more every day. The fact is the smartphone accounts for about 70 – 80 % of small business services searches today, not tomorrow today!

If a business website is only optimized for desktop, laptop and responsive to IPad and iPhone, you are defiantly losing sales. How can I say that, the logic is simple, the same material written in the same way and displayed the same way simply is not perceived the same on a 5 inch screen as it is on a 24 inch screen?

Today websites must SEO optimize and create content with the mobile smartphone in mind. This means answering real questions in short clear paragraphs whenever possible, providing real information not sales pitches, and for the phone versions – lots and lots of appropriate pictures to the hold interest of an audience viewing on a very small screen.

A ricent report by Forrester revealed the average 25 – 40 year old smartphone users are spending 85% of their time on mobile phones using apps and only 15% in the traditional browsers, even at work. And by far the most popular of those apps are Google, FaceBook, Apple Seri and Bing.

Does this mean that apps are overtaking websites and website based social media and social sharing sites. The answer is no, it is only indicative of how people are getting to those social sites and getting to small business websites, through app versions of popular search engines on their smartphone.

Tim Berners-Lee’s vision way back in 1995 (The inventor of the World Wide Web) saw the web as “an open platform that would allow everyone, everywhere to share information, access opportunities, and collaborate across geographic and cultural boundaries”.

Today advertising on the commercial web is now being by two mega sites, Google and FaceBook. Believe it or not, these two entities have a sustained 90% of all advertising growth on digital platforms. But this does not mean that a small or midsized company must buy PPC on Google or FaceBook.  Actually, their monopoly had opened the opportunities for true Deep Content Marketing and Generic Traffic.  Fearing regulators and lawsuits similar to recent findings in Europe, the internet has opened up for real and solid information on thousands of websites, not set up as sales landing pages.
